Mobile Telephone

                  This moving small gadget is like Aladin's lamp and one may get as it were what one desires. Its first appearance in the hands of very few people tells its status as one of high aristocracy .. The holders of such gadgets were reluctant to inform of their telephone numbers. Subsequent incidents like withdrawal of charges of  incoming calls, fall in price of the gadgets due to fierce competitive markets launched by  many such companies manufacturing such products , expansion and extension of network have paved the way to lure the people at large to get a set  for use in their daily life. Apart from the personal uses it has now almost imperative to maintain a mobile telephone in various requirements whether private or public. It is therefore not a luxury or a status symbol of the erstwhile days but most important and valuable weapon to meet the exigencies of modern life.

                   With the development of soft ware providing variety of services the mobile telephony is just not  a gadget receiving and sending calls only ; personal computer features have now been incorporated in the mobile telephone soft ware thus making it challenge a mini computer. The technology is very fast progressing and each company is trying to give new features in its set and the consumers are mesmerized as to what they will choose and buy. Mobile sets which came only 20 years ago have now become almost obsolete , the production of such sets stopped and which are still being used by people are being discarded by opting latest sets.

                     There is a question --in the field of communication has the zenith been reached and there remains hardly any further chance of improvement. Interestingly it now appears that the size of the gadgets has increased mainly to offer opportunity for camera purposes. It is now selling like hot cakes no doubt, but this craze is unlikely to run perpetually because all types of camera functions can not be made available to the mobile phones. Leaving aside the camera function further miniaturization of such gadgets by introducing nano technology may find favour with the scientists and technologists for future development of communication instruments. Mobile telephone

Mobile telephone is one of the biggest scientific inventions gifted to the general people of the world. Radio telephony was restricted to certain departments of the governments and the general public could not get any benefit out of it. During the last half of the twentieth century the global sky save and except very remote and inaccessible areas where network could not be set up has been enclosed with web which transmit required signal to help communication among peoples all over the world. Technology developed very fast  and small portable instrument known as mobile or cell phone has come to be a must holding by the poor people of the undeveloped countries of the world. A new world of communication shook the entire humanity when computer made rapid progress in the last lap of the twentieth century and the 21st century welcomed personal computer almost in every household of the developed countries and has started to make inroads in the developing and undeveloped countries. Heavy weight Desktop machines have been gradually giving way to the light weight laptop and tablets for use as a portable one from place to place. People are now used to use these instruments to chat across the globe. Most wise men of the nineteenth and before centuries could hardly dream that such a machine would ever come to be a  pioneer communication mouth piece. Television

The gadgets invented could transmit message or any information or other particulars by audio and every field of life have started getting benefits from such revolutionary developments. Another revolutionary invention soon joined the list of communication inventory--it is television which may be described as one of the most popular gadget to the people in general. Its use has reached such a position that life without television is meaningless. It has now reached the poorest homes in the most backward countries of the world. Television has totally changed the life pattern of the entire world--humans have received the greatest gift to engage themselves and have become , as it were, global citizens. 

Radio telephone and Radio telegraphy

Remote calls by direct dialogues by radio telephone and coded messages by radio telegraphy were invented in short intervals . Such inventions started helping in civil , military, and research operations not only for the global area but extended beyond it. There began endeavours to send radio signals to the cosmos and also to get such signals from the cosmos as well. Searches have been going to find if we are not singular in the universe. Interplanetary and or  intergalactic communication is believed to find out the gate to reach the hidden world. Humans have been waiting for these days to come !

Radio

Land line telephone had limitations and could not be reached at every place, Another revolutionary invention soon followed in the communication world. It was radio--a mass media communication system reaching every distant place of the globe with its basketful of every type of information, particulars, data etc, different types of entertainment music, songs, dramas, discussions  and what not all in audio forms. Although there have been many inventions in the communication world it seems that radio has not lost its importance in any way and it is believed that it will continue to remain so in the future to come.

Transmission of message by telegram by codes was so far the fastest medium known to the humans. Then appeared land line commercial telephone when it became possible to talk to a person sitting at quite a distance which gradually increased with extension of network. It was a revolutionary invention which made communication to advance and every Tom, Dick and Harry got the opportunity to use it. Thus started a new era in direct dialogue among persons located at distance apart.

Telegraph

Transmission of message with the aid of pigeons, drums or cloud became myths when the first message dispatch was done mechanically by a process to be known as telegraphy which with astounding pace escorted the message to the receiver. Without telegraph the extension and expansion of railways would have been impossible ; distance  drew proximate. Telegraph was the first torch bearer of modern life.

The poet Kalidas of India is now known throughout the world ; one of his most famous poetry relates to " Meghdoot " where the lover imprisoned on the top of hill being physically and mentally upset finding no other help from anybody invoked the cloud and asked him to carry his message to his lover as his messenger. Had there been any mobile , the poet Kalidas did not have any chance to create such immortal poetry.

The aboriginal people in the ancient times used to send messages by beat of drums to a far distant place by relaying process. Alas they had hardly ever dreamt of a masterpiece of instrument known as mobile, Drums are entertainers now.

pigeons

Two aboriginal groups were fighting....their families were at long distance away and anxiously waiting ; after two days flew there two white pigeons indicating the defeat of the invaders. There were traditional practices from ancient time to send message by pigeons. Mobiles have taken over the pigeons !
